Mechanized bridge brings changes in Kushma & Balewa

The mechanized bridge in Kushma, Parbat and Balewa, Baglung district, which has shortened the two hours trek into five minutes, has been a blessing for the locals.
The bridge has changed the lifestyle of the people benefiting more than dozen VDCs of south and Balewa in Baglung.  The bridge has earned Rs 12.5 million in a period of one year of its construction.
The bridge constructed under the aegis of the Parbat Chamber of Commerce has started to become a tourism destination.
It has linked southern VDCs of Baglung socially, economically and culturally with Parbat district, said Chairman of the Mechanized Bridge Hom Narayan Shrestha.
Some 700 to 1,000 people use the bridge for movement which is in cable car model and people of Narayansthan, Paiyupata, Amalachaur and other VDCs have been benefiting from the movement of people.
As it is close to reach Kushma than Baglung for them,  trade of the area has been centred in Kushma. It is only five minutes to reach Kushma from Narayansthan VDC-8.
“It is a boon to us,” said Matikala  Chapagain of Paiyupata-3. It has saved our time and we can sell vegetables in Kushma easily, she added. One side fare of the cable car bridge is Rs. 100 and locals get 25 percent discount to use the bridge.
